Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data Diggers Cafe collects when you book a session, sign up for updates, or get in touch, and what we do with it. We are the data controller for that data. Reach us at info@diggers.cafe.
What we collect
- Booking details — name, email, phone (if given), chosen date/time, vehicles picked, driver names + ages, photo-consent choice.
- Payment — handled by Stripe. We see the last 4 digits and a transaction reference; we never see the full card number.
- Newsletter signups — email and source if you opted in to updates.
- Photos you send us for the gallery, if you choose to.
- Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in to your booking, plus a cookie recording your consent choice. We do not set marketing or analytics cookies without your consent.
How we use it
- To take and run your booking, send confirmations and reminders, and generate a check-in QR.
- To stay in touch with newsletter subscribers about upcoming events and offers.
- To moderate and publish photos you submit to the gallery.
- To run anti-fraud checks via Stripe.
Lawful bases
We process booking data on the basis of a contract with you (so we can provide the session). Newsletter and photo data is processed on the basis of your explicit consent — you can withdraw it at any time by replying to any email or messaging us.
Sharing
We use Stripe (payments), Brevo (transactional email + SMS), and our UK-based hosting provider. We never sell your data and we don’t share it with anyone else without your consent or a legal requirement to do so.
Retention
Booking records are kept for 6 years for accounting and tax purposes (UK requirement). Newsletter signups are kept until you unsubscribe. Photos you submit stay until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop a particular use. Email info@diggers.cafe and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
